We know that physical activity, along with a healthy diet, is important during a child’s early years. We have a fabulous large enclosed garden, safe grass trackways around the farm and a brilliant woodland play area to keep us active outside. Inside we are fortunate to have spacious areas where we can play lively games and have the freedom to express ourselves. So every day we will encourage the children to enjoy the opportunities of our amazing spaces.
We also promote healthy eating and offer a range of home cooked hot and cold meals. Children are encouraged to think and eat healthily; so they are able to help prepare simple meals with us, whilst learning where our food comes from. We will strive for a healthy balanced diet without added salt or sugar and offer plenty of vegetables and fresh fruit. I hold a food Hygiene Certificate so will always store and prepare food safely. A weekly menu is displayed in the office, with any allergies or dietary requirements clearly noted. We sit to eat together so that meal times are a sociable experience where we promote good table manners as we enjoy our food. Hand washing and good hygiene is promoted and we will act as good role models. Fresh water is always available.
