When children are registered with me and are settled you can choose for them to stay overnight.
This can be as a treat for them to book a sleepover with friends.
Or a treat for you to wake up without children!
Either way I will endeavour to return them to you well rested, breakfasted, and happy.
I have a children’s bedroom with bunk beds and a low single bed, plus a selection of quiet but interesting toys to aid the gentle evening and morning transitions between sleep and wakefulness.
Our bedtime routine will follow a pattern of increasingly peaceful activities to wind down the day followed by a story. I will sit with the children until they fall asleep, then be in the bedroom just next door with a monitor to alert me immediately to anyone who stirs.
There is a shower room with toilet and basin just outside the children’s bedroom door for night time and early morning visits, plus a bathroom which we will use for hands faces and teeth before bed. You may choose for your child to have a bath if you would like them to.
Before children sleepover for the first time I will complete a night time routine with you so that I am aware of both their needs and your expectations for them. I will also ask you for your specific contact details throughout the night, in case of emergency. Should you wish, I will also arrange to text you for your reassurance. I will keep a brief record of your child’s sleepover which will be available to you when you collect them in the morning.
As with all other facilities at Pippa’s Barn I have a policy and risk assessment for sleepovers which is available for you in the document file.
